Best Albums Of 2015

Year In Review

Is it really 2016 already? As we transition into a time of new years resolutions (that may or may not be kept), fresh beginnings, and most importantly new music, it is time to reflect on what has turned out to be an incredible year in albums. Between a multitude of promising debuts, surprise discoveries, and bands that have kept me patiently waiting…and waiting… but turned out amazing albums more than worth the delay, there is a lot to be thankful for in 2015. I personally have faced the challenge of shortening a list of over 30 new albums that I have enjoyed to give you what I believe to be the best 10 albums of 2015. Without further ado here they are:

Surprise! Awolnation Have a New Song

New Music

Even though Awolnation’s sophomore album Run certainly gave fans enough unique music to obsess over for a lifetime the band has decided to bless us with Wichita Panama, a B-Side that didn’t make the album. Wichita Panama is pretty typical Awolnation- which is to say, it’s not typical at all. With  prominent beats, trumpet, and instantly likable catch lines sung or melodically shouted in Aaron Bruno’s distinctive voice, Wichita Panama stays accessible but also unpredictable.

Wichita Panama is the first song released as a part of Redbull’s 20 before 16 exclusive where they will be sharing 20 new songs over 20 days to bring in the new year. You can listen to Wichita Panama on their website here!

Awolnation rocks the Sound Academy in Toronto

Concert Review

Do you want to come home sore after a night of dancing and screaming along to a collection of incredible songs? Do you want a mind blowing light show and energy so high you don’t think a single room can contain it? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you want an Awolnation concert. If you answered no, you don’t know it yet, but you want an Awolnation concert. Two days after Awolnation rocked the Sound Academy in Toronto, my feet still hurt, my arms are bruised from fist pumping into the barrier at the front, and post concert depression (which is a real thing) is at an all time high. Here’s what went down:

AWOLNATION takes over the Nation with RUN

New Music

It’s been a while, but AWOLNATION’s follow up to their 2011 success, Megalithic Symphony, might in fact be bigger and better than the Awolnation debut. Impressively written, produced, and performed solely by Awolnation’s mastermind Aaron Bruno, Run is a 14 track masterpiece that gets better every time you listen to it. It’s solid all the way through – without being repetitive or scattered the listener is not about to get bored.
